Calvin shows us how to make perfect crust~in like 5 minutes!

All finished!Here we are!

Here are some more pictures from our wacky weekend at Bow Safari.I don't want to toot my own horn, but I will. =] I was the first to score on the hunt this year, a Fallow buck~what a beauty! Cary was next with his Black buck. James and Denny followed with their assortment of hogs. Oh, we can't forget Donnie's squirrel! What a shot!

As I mentioned, we had a delicious meal and got to visit with our other 'family' and friends. Sandy and Joel came by with their girls, Taylor Jo and Jess. Taylor will be happy to know that we named one of our gerbils after her boyfriend, Willie Clyde. Jess added some bling to the evening by bedazzling hers and Cary's hair. Chef Terry was there as well with his giant mobile grill and Sam and wife stopped by to say 'hey'. Of course, little Midge the tracking dog was there to join in on the fun and food, what a cutie! Each time we get together and visit, it's as if we pick up right where we left off the last time. These are some of the greatest people in the world! Even if you don't hunt, this is a great place to come visit~you'll never meet a stranger!

Happy New Year to everyone! I hope you had a wonderful welcome to the new year. Ours was pretty uneventful as we returned from our annual New Year's weekend hunt from Bow Safari on New Year's eve and boy were we tired! Our weekend leading up to the new year was a blast as usual. We spent it hunting at the Bow Safari lodge in Coalgate, Oklahoma with a few close friends and the people who run the place, Deanna and Calvin Farr. It's become an annual event and we just have the best time! We eat, drink, hunt, visit, and of course it's all very merry. This year, as a surprise for Deanna's birthday, Calvin had a friend come and cook the BEST meal! Ribeye steak, shrimp, bacon-wrapped quail, and the biggest Alaskan King-crab legs. I know we had other food, but this is all I can remember because this was what I ate. Calvin and Deanna, thanks again for another great weekend of fun. You and your family have become a special part of our hunting family. Read on for more about our fabulous hunt!

Cooper and Nemo

Nemo's on the lam!

So, I got crabs for my birthday~really! Land Hermits, thank God their pinchers aren't big enough to take off a toe like the sea crabs in Florida! In addition to the two new crabs (one of which stays buried, so there's no pic's of it), Carrie was given a really ugly fish by her boyfriend. What an interesting one! (They both are,tee-hee) Also, Cooper purchased two new gerbils. We've forgotten how fun those little critters can be!

The crabs are very interesting to say the least. One kept me last night crunching around in its' tank under the sand. Larry the crab is a live wire alright! I think Nemo is molting or dying. We'll find out in a few days. He's naked right now, he's sort of 'come out of his shell.'
Timmy the fish is really happy, especially when you feed him. I think I nearly blinded him thought when I took his picture. He seems to have a good personality...for a fish.
Willie Clyde and Bessie, the gerbils, are hilarious! Willie Clyde is a wild man, climbing and running like mad in his little wheel. Bessie is definitely the sweet little girl. She just wants to stand up and look cute.
Of course, the neighbor's dogs pay us daily visits also, we let them in to say hello to the cats occasionally. My mom's dog will visit tonight~what a zoo this place will be! Check out the pictures above of all of our special friends=]
